London Layover

I am sitting at my gate waiting for more information on my final flight of my journey to Kenya. With all the time changes while crossing the ocean, I am only running on about 3 hours of sleep! But, with the help of some Starbucks and a croissant, I am wide awake and ready! (for now at least, I'm going to try to nap on the flight)

The flight to London was so nice. I had a window seat, my own personal tv, and free food! I slept while we were over the ocean, and woke up just in time to look out my window to the Irish countrysides. It was so pretty from the sky. It looked like a mosaic of fields, and was so different than the fields I see in the Midwest. Our fields seem so uniform and square. Or at least as square as we can. The fields here were all kinds of shapes and sizes, with speckles of towns through out.

While flying into London, I was able to see much of the town, and I realized that London. is. huge. Compared to my little town, it seemed like London never ended. But it looked so enchanting from above. With all the red roofed houses, church steeples, and winding streets.

On my way to the correct terminal, I had to ride a bus, it seemed so strange though. It wasn't until the very end that I figured out what it was! The people are driving on the wrong side of the car! It is so different to see people driving in what I consider the passenger side! I am sure I will get used to it. I'll come home and be confused all over again and think we drive on the wrong side.

Only a few more hours to my destination, and I am almost giddy with excitement! I can only imagine the languages I will hear in the Nairobi airport.

I'll keep you updated!
